An island church will host the first seasonal event ever and invite the public.
The holiday craft fair will be held on November 13th from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 6:30 pm, and from 9 am to 12:30 pm on November 14 in the Parish Hall of St. Isabel Catholic Church, address It is 3559 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel. The event is hosted by the Parish Bread and Roses Association.
"This is our first attempt to do this," said Mary Aufderheide, president of the association.
She explained that women’s groups are relatively new and were established about three years ago. After the formation, the members discussed holding such an event, but then the pandemic hit.
Aufderheide went on to say that they recently resumed regular meetings.
"So, this year, we decided to continue," she said.
"We want it to be an annual event," Aufderheide points out.
The fair will display various crafts and objects handmade by members and parish residents.
"We prepared embroidered pillows, kitchen towels, placemats, napkins-all kinds of things for autumn and Christmas," she said. "We will have a small corner on the coast, where there will be shell crafts and sailing."
"And we have quite a lot of knitting and crocheting products," Aufderheide added.
She explained that one member made about 25 handbags by hand.
"They are all different fabrics and sizes," Aufderheide said.
Participants will also find unique handmade rosary beads, the price may be between 100-150 US dollars.
"Most of them will be less than $50," she said.
The event will also feature a treasure area of yesterday, which contains a series of lightly used items.
"There will be Christmas items. People donated decorations, Christmas plates, some Lenox," Offdheide said, adding that nothing should exceed $30. "There will be all kinds of good things."
The bazaar will also hold a bake sale.
"We have banana nut bread, maybe pumpkin bread, cookies," she said.
"They will be individually packaged and ready to use," Aufderheide added. "They will be a little bit festive."
The wearing of masks is encouraged, but not mandatory.
She said: "We will try our best to maintain social distancing."
The proceeds of the activity will enter the society, and its members will decide how to distribute the funds.
Encourage residents and tourists to come out.
"I think they will find some very unique and unique items, and they will be very satisfied," Aufderheide said. "And this is a worthy cause-it will be donated to the parish, to charity."
